Um, excuse me. I am austinandallyfan123 and I wanted to talk abut the look. I had an idea. The Proms and Promises look should be instead of the read coat and silver jeans. I hope you like my idea.
Thanks
I've been a rollback here for about eight months now. In that time, I've been basically left in charge of the Wiki for long periods of time multiple times (for perfectly understandable reasons, but still) and I've found that a lot of people don't seem to understand my job.
I'm not an admin. I can't delete pages, I can't ban users. But I still have authority, and the amount of disrespect I (and the other admins) have been given is getting pretty out of hand. Most of it isn't purposeful, I don't think any of you are actually trying to disrespect us, but I feel like need to point this out.
First off: off-topic commenting. I understand that you all want to chat with your friends, but this is an official rule, and you should know not to do it. We've provided you with many different places for discussion. Pages on episodes, characters, etc. are intended for discussion about those episodes, characters, etc. It's a basic request. Some wikis don't allow discussion on pages at all (OUAT Wiki, for example). We're being generous with our commenting policies. We just ask that you keep it on topic.
Second off: warnings and reminders. I don't throw these out willy-nilly, and I'm nearly positive none of the other admins or rollbacks do either. The policies are clear and simple: no swearing, no off-topic commenting, no being rude or starting arguments. If you believe that you were warned/reminded for no good reason, feel free to bring it up politely and I'm completely willing to rethink. But if you come at me screaming and yelling, it doesn't make the situation better.
Thirdly: professionalism is important, I promise. It makes people more interested in the wiki and more likely to join, which gives you all more people to talk to (which you love doing). If I remove your trivia point and tell you it was bad trivia, I'm not trying to be mean. I'm trying to make the wiki as a whole a better place for information and much easier to read. When you add it back multiple times (i.e. Auslly's relationship status being "in love with", or Musicals & Moving on "likely being the finale") with no evidence or counter-arguments, it's extremely frustrating and highly disrespectful. It's the same thing as warnings and reminders; if you think it was removed for no good reason, bring it up politely and I'll reconsider. But just adding it back after it's been removed multiple times doesn't help.
I think that's basically everything. I know this was kind of rant-y and sounded pretty mean, but that's not my intention. I'm trying to draw everyone's attention to a serious problem on the wiki in order to make this a happier, more comfortable place instead of stressful and filled with arguments.
Thanks guys.

I've noticed that the Userboxes page is a little confusing to some people. You guys have the coding like this: Code: Austin Moon, to make
Austin Moon! |
Now that Sonic Boom's been replaced/redecorated, should the page be renamed, or should there be a different page for the music factory?
Recently I have been working on putting some episode pages together and I'm seeing that our layout isn't completely solid here. I have a few suggestions on changes we can make to the layouts and if everyone agrees we can put it into action.
Cast
I have a suggestion for the cast section that we move it to the episode infobox. I honestly think that the cast section breaks the flow of the page. As you read through the page, you're reading about the episode itself: the overview, plot, quotes, songs, and then when you get to cast it just seems kind of awkwardly placed. It's a small section and can easily fit in the infobox, it's own section doesn't seem all that necessary. All of the production information including writers, directors, etc. are in the infobox and I think it'd be better if we just put it there as well.
Memorable Quotes
This is a simple change but I suggest that we change the title of this section to just "Quotes." First, whether the quote is memorable or not is an opinion. It'd be better just to have the title as "Quotes" because it generalizes the section. Obviously, not every line from the episode is included but it tells the reader that it simply features regular quotes from the episode that matter. Second, I think it's best we keep the titles short.
Transcript & Gallery
I don't think the transcript section nor gallery section should be included on a page if there is not one for the page. Many episodes don't have transcripts and it wouldn't make sense to link to something that's not there. The gallery part mainly refers to episodes that haven't aired yet. We shouldn't link to it's gallery (or even have a gallery for it) until actual pictures are released.
Upcoming Episodes/Blank Episodes
So basically, all upcoming episodes have mostly a page full of blank sections. I think we should still format them like this because it leaves the important sections there to be filled in as information comes in but I do think we need to decide on what goes in those sections if nothing is there. Most pages say "TBA" and some say "To be added" and some say "The episode has not aired yet." or something. I think we need to choose one and stick with one. I vote "TBA" because that's simple. Do you think everyone will know what that means?
Categories
Lastly, I think we should rename the category "Unaired episodes" to "Upcoming Episodes" because #1 "unaired" is not a word and #2 "upcoming" probably makes more sense then saying it's "unaired."
Please reply with your thoughts, thank you! :)
I've noticed that in the separate season galleries for the main characters, there are an undetermined number of images that are incorrect. For example, there are a lot of images in the Dez Wade Season One gallery that are actually of Ally Dawson. I've been trying to remove a lot of these as thoroughly as I can, while adding images currently in the general galleries into season-specific galleries. I'm going to need some help with a lot of these... oh, and sorting out duplicates would be good too.
Hello guys.
While I was working on the categories from Season 2 articles, I realized that Christopher10006 renamed both the Big Dreams & Big Apples and Nanny In Miami pages, leaving a redirect to the Austin & Jessie & Ally All Star New Year page.
Previously, both Austin & Ally and JESSIE's episodes (which together conform the crossover "Austin & Jessie & Ally All Star New Year") had their own page, but now they don't. I think the Big Dreams & Big Apples page should be restored, adding all the content that was featured before. I am not fully convinced about restoring the Nanny In Miami page, because I believe a full article about it should be featured on the JESSIE wiki, due to the fact that it actually is a JESSIE episode featuring the Austin & Ally cast, if you get what I mean.
What do you think? I believe there are three options here:
- Leaving everything the way it is right now (in other words, keep the Austin & Jessie & Ally All Star New Year page without changing anything from it, and keep both the Big Dreams & Big Apples and Nanny In Miami as redirect pages.)
- Restoring the Big Dreams & Big Apples page, keeping the content from the Austin & Jessie & Ally All Star New Year page and featuring the Nanny In Miami article only on the JESSIE wiki.
- Restoring both Big Dreams & Big Apples and Nanny In Miami pages and keeping the Austin & Jessie & Ally All Star New Year page.
Sorry if I didn't make myself clear, I tried to explain how I visualize this situation in the clearest way possible. If you don't understand something, don't hesitate to ask me, maybe I could find another way to explain what I just posted.
Thanks, and if you have any other solutions to this problem, post them!
Hello. Once again, I am here to ask you whether or not the following pages should remain on the wiki:
- http://austinally.wikia.com/wiki/Owen
I suggest (for both Owen and Pickles' articles) to move them to the minor characters page, because I believe they don't need a full article, because there is no more information that can be added to them.
While checking different articles, I found out about the existence of the "Big Mama" page. I honestly believe this "character" shouldn't have its own page, because it isn't a major character. What do you think? Should Big Mama be featured on the Minor Characters' page?
Does this wiki have like, an ACTUAL website? I can help you guys picking out a website creator, or even helping making the website. :)
I recommend we should try to do a chat event, and maybe an admin can try it, if they approve. It can be day, afternoon, and night, if anyone is cool with it. The name should be 'Austin and Ally Chat Boom'. Kind of like Sonic Boom, but with chat.. Why am I being so.. Yeahh.
Are the categories Pre-Teens and Kids really needed on some character pages? Honestly, it's right on some pages, but for example on the Austin page, it looks messy. Considering Austin isn't a pre-teen or a kid
It's honestly annoying removing the categories from the pages. So they shouldn't be on those pages. Categories aren't that big, but it makes the wiki more organised
Is anybody else missing the Austin & Ally Wikia icon from their Favorites list? It shows up on all the URL bars, but not in the "My Favorites" icon.
Hey everybody! I want to propose a new page idea to you all. Recently, irrelevant comments on pages has been a major issue. We just can't get it to stop. We have pages for people to go where they can talk about anything including the Get Social board and the Talk Like Crazy blog post. But the problem is, you cannot use Forums in the mobile interface and the Talk Like Crazy blog post is often hard to find. Many people also find it easiest to just talk on pages.
MacyZC55 and I met up and we thoguht it'd be cool if we added a new page called the "Austin & Ally Fan Page". This could also be called the "Austin & Ally Social Page". Basically this page would be the social hub for fans of Austin & Ally. On the page itself, you can post just about anything you want. Austin & Ally fanart, a message, a video you want to share with fans, anything as long as it's appropriate. And most importantly, in the comments, you can talk about anything you want! It's basically just a place for us to get together, chat, and share our discoveries with each other. It'd be like the Talk Like Crazy blog post but made official and put on a page.
MacyZC55 and I were set to put this in action and see how it goes but we first wanted to see if you guys have any suggestions or opinions about this! Thanks! :)
Hey Lil' Austin & Ally fans as well as admins who could quit actually help me with this problem, this has happening for the past 7 months. I haven't been able to change my profile pic in a long time, today i changed to Ariana Grande but then i wanted to change it again, hoping it would work out as well as before... It didnt! This is what keeps happening:
If any of you could try and help me out with this problem, it would be lovely if you cant see the text in the picture, well, it says, "Saving user data failed - your data should be plain text". Which i definetely dont get, i'm really hoping some chat moderators and admins could help me fix this problem! Thank you so very much<3Yours truly,
Valerie, xo
I really think the Auslly page needs a massive cleanup section. I understand that it is a fanpage, but it is now filled with unprofessional rumors and beliefs of the fans with no proof to back it up. I tried to help by adding a specific rumors section and keeping all of the rumors to just that but users keep adding the rumors back all over the place. I can't go to the page without trying to rip my face off because it's so messy. I am completely willing to clean it up on my own but I need some admins to back me up so that people will stop undoing my edits.
Hey guys! I have a new idea. Recently, spoilers has been a big debate on the wiki. A lot of people love them but at the same time, a lot of people don't want to know spoilers. So I had this new idea. You know how some pages have second pages that connect to them? I'm not sure what you would call them but like how the Everglades & Ally-Gators has the gallery page named Everglades & Ally-Gators/Gallery. I was thinking that we could start giving episode pages their own page for spoilers. For example, the Fanatics & Favors page would have a spoiler page titled "Fanatics & Favors/Spoilers." I know this would be a huge change to the wiki, but I think it could work. Here are a few rules that would go with it:
- Spoiler pages would only be for upcoming episodes.
- Spoiler pages would list spoilers found as well as fan speculation and rumors. They should have a reference if possible.
- All spoiler pages will include a "do you want to continue" pop up, something like the Innuendo page has.
- There will be a disclaimer at the top of the page informing the reader that they are only spoilers and speculation.
- Once the episode is aired, the spoiler page should be deleted.
Spoiler pages would also be a little less professional than our regular pages. They'd be something like this:
Fashion Shows & First Impressions/Spoilers
Fashion Shows & First Impressions is the twelfth episode to be filmed for Season 3 of Austin & Ally. This episode will air on June 29, 2014. Continue below for spoilers and fan speculations about the episode!
Spoilers
- Austin and Ally will kiss as revealed in a YouTube clip.
- The cast will talk about themselves at the end of this episode.
- In this episode, Austin and Ally will reveal their feelings for each other.
Speculation
- It is believed that Ally will model in this episode.
- It is believed that Austin will design an outfit for Ally.
- Dez will try to sabotage Chuck.
So yeah, it'd be something like that! The thing I like about having a spoiler page for each episode is that it separates the spoilers/speculation from the factual information. It also gives users a choice. They really don't have to look at the spoiler version of the page if they don't want to. Also, spoiler commenting could happen on these pages only and it would keep it off the episode pages.
So please, tell me what you think about this idea in a reply. Thanks guys! :)
Other suggestions:
A "report" button for comments; the ability to make suggestions without having to post a message (I never know how to word things); two separate pages for pairings and friendships (but that's just me).
