Thank you for the offer. However, I am rarely on Wikia these days and I will not be able to contribute or edit as much as I think you want me to. I would love to join, but I will not be an active user. Just letting you know. Have a nice day. :)
Cool! None of my other friends understand the series, so I'll never know what their faction is. I said Dauntless because the results I got were mostly Dauntless, but I'm actually Divergent (Dauntless and Candor)
Nope. They don't bother to read the books or see the movies. I tried it with one of my friends, and she was Candor. I did my best to explain, but it just didn't work. Sometimes I wish I was Amity, actually. And by results, I mean traits and what I would do in the Aptitude Test.
No, just Divergent and Insurgent. I'm reading on the last one. Also, you are going to flip out. So, my mom and one of her coworkers went to lunch one day. So they went to this little restaurant in West Hollywood. And then my mom's coworker pointed out that Shailene Woodley was sitting at the table across from them. My mom told me about it when she got home, and I was freaking out...
They were only in the Spectacular Now together and play Tris and Peter in the Divergent series. Agreed
Do you mean compared to the book? Idk why, but its kind of better like that for me, because it's no point seeing the movie if it's excactly like the book. Which scenes do you hope it will try to have from Insurgent? I'm scared that they probably will cut out the where Tris is on peace serum, but it will most likely have the scene where Tris and Tobias are on the truth serum
Yeah, to the book. You have a pretty good point there. It's not that I don't enjoy the scenes that are not in the book, I actually find them fun to watch. But some things, like the capture-the-flag part, just bug me. I don't know why. I liked that they used darts that were like a real gunshot, but could they at least put color to make it like a paintball?
I want to see the Candor and Amity headquarters. Honestly. I'm in the middle of writing a FanFiction, and if I know what all the factions (at least used to) look like, it will help. That's all I'm hoping for, I swear. What about you?
Yeah. And also in the book Christina takes the flag, but Tris takes it in the movie. There's heaps of other differences too which weren't really necessary. Why did Tris need to complete her fear landscape the "Dauntless" way in the movie? I guess it was so that people who haven't read the book would understand it more
Uh... Tris needs to go on peace serum, Tori needs to kill Jeanine, it mentions that Tobias thought his mother was dead the whole time and maybe when Tris considers trying to kill herself by jumping off the window ledge in Candor headquarters maybe? I hope it's not too different! Oh... and when Peter saves Tris before she dies with Jeanine's machine
Aw, thanks. =) I can really see the Abegnation/Amity/Erudite in you. =P Before I started Allegiant, sometimes I just opened Divergent and started reading at a random page (Most of the time it was Al's Funeral). That's just weird things you can do with the Divergent books. You can open to a random page, start to read, and become so interested in it that it is hard to stop. A book has to be really good for that to happen.
Yay thanks! You seem Dauntless and Candor right now! Yeah, I do that sometimes too. I'll actually tell you how I got into the Divergent series. So I first heard about it when people were talking about at school (this was around the time when the movie first came out), and they were saying how it was the next Hunger Games (I wasn't interested in THG back then, but I am now). My younger sister bought a magazine with Divergent on the cover and a Dauntless keychain, just because there was a poster of someone else she liked in it. I wasn't that interested. Then my school library had a new display with the whole trilogy and I decided to pick up the first book and read some of it. It was okay... but I just put it back and forgot about it. That weekend, my local department store had a section full of Divergent things, promoting the movie. I recognised that I didn't mind the first part of the book, so that Monday I picked it up again, read more of it, then borrowed it! I ended up falling in love with it, and read the next two books. I ended up buying them and I reread them. I also bought the Four book aswell. I finally saw the movie when my mum got it on DVD for me, and I loved it, despite how much it differed from the book. The books did make me want to keep reading until the end, which I didn't feel about other books I read. And since I already read them, I can turn to a random page and read for a long time, which is usually Tris' fear landscapes!
Don't worry! I can be a really slow reader too. I got THG trilogy for Christmas, and ever since I've been reading them. I'm still on Catching Fire. Maybe because I was too busy to read it or I take a really long reading a chapter... idk
Sorry this reply is so long! I guess I really am Erudite!
That's kind of like me! At the time when the Divergent movie first came out, I was all about THG. I thought of Divergent as a stupid ripoff of THG. In America, it was this huge fandom that everyone suddenly adored. So I saw the Divergent trailer, and I kind of wanted to read it (because I thought it was a THG ripoff). So my mom's coworker let me borrow her copy. I read until Tris entered the Dauntless compound, and then I gave the copy back. Then, after a month, I went to the library and I got the first book. I've been obsessed ever since!
That's kind of ironic. I've read all of THG series, you've read all of the Divergent. You haven't read the last THG book, and I haven't read the last Divergent book. The fact that it took me forever to write this proved that I'm not Erudite.
Sorry about this being a little long. It's fine if you did a long message, that gives us more to talk about.
Ha! THG is pretty similar to it, but it's not 100% the same. It's kind of funny how you got into it XD
It takes me forever to reply to threads this long, usually around 10 minutes! That's usually because I use a tablet most of the time, but now I'm using a school computer so I can type faster. Ha that is ironic
Honestly, THG's Panem seems a little bit more "creative", because Suzanne Collins made it up, but like Veronica Roth used a real city and added factions and a fence around it. Don't get me wrong they're both really great!
Haha I will X) Can we switch devices? I NEED a laptop and I don't care how slow it is XD
I've seen those. So much better than whatever I use
I don't know. I don't understand how they're gonna do it. For some reason I see that Part 1 will go the normal 2 or so hours, but Part 2 being a bit shorter. Having read the book, I don't know how they're gonna do it. We'll just have to wait and see!
Not having read the entire series yet, I'm not sure what would be better. Honestly (Because I'm Candor, lol) I hate waiting! I cringe when people talk about the Allegiant movie being spilt into 2. I guess I'm glad though, more screen time.
I cried for days when I read the end... whoops! I kind of knew he wasn't though.
SPOILER: In Four, Tobias tells about his aptitude test and he got Abnegation. I guess he was known as Divergent because he is able to resist serums and control his fearscapes. But Tris got Divergent on her aptitude, so that makes her a real Divergent ha
I KNOW! I didn't want to spoil it for you. I cried for days. I always re-read the part where Tobias finds out... and he goes to see her body... and the epilogue where he goes ziplining for Tris... and JUST THIS CHAPTER... "When her body first hit the net..." oh and this one "But that wasn't the first time I saw her" D': D':
So your friend saw it and he doesn't even know anything about it and you didn't? What the hell?!
Btw, my mum is going to take me to see Insurgent... a little change of plans. I was originally going to go with my aunt, but she's mad at me for saying stuff about my cousin, so my mum agreed to take me
Well your dress looks Divergent. I mean white, black, blue and pink? That's Candor, Erudite and Amity. I know Erudite and Amity aren't really your thing- especially Erudite- but as Veronica Roth once said when she wrote Tris' death... what matters?
Your dad has a girlfriend? My mum isn't going in... so she's not watching it. Today I got a magazine with Insurgent on the cover with like FOUR posters ^_^ of course this isn't the only one I got
True! But the factionless are awesome. Sure Evelyn Johnson-Eaton wanted Tobias to ally Dauntless with them to kill Erudite, but in reality, the Erudite are the worst! I am Erudite, but the people running it are buzzkill. And don't get me started on that evil back-stabbing menace Caleb >.<
Woah that sucks! I'm hopefully seeing it this week or next week, but in 2D. Oh and btw, the magazine that I got looks so good (it is just as good as it looks)
The factionless are pretty cool. They are sort of like the homeless, but at the same time, they made the streets their home and the other factionless their family. And Caleb is just... no. I can't stand him. He is a secondary reason Tris died.
Hey I know I haven't been on this for a long Time and I just wanted to say that I'm gonna retire from this because I don't have time to edit wikis anymore. So I'm gonna be inactive and hope you have happy wiki editing days.
