"Next Big Thing" (also known as N.B.T.) is a singing competition held by Radio Disney. Each year, Radio Disney picks five hopefuls who will perform their own original songs and compete for fans' votes. The winner will get an original single released and will be the opening act at the N.B.T. finale concert in Los Angeles. Radio Disney and fans will determine who will be the winner. For Season 5, Radio Disney added an extra prize for the winner. The winner of season 5 will not only release a single but they will recieve the chance to perform on the hit Disney Channel series, Austin & Ally. The five contestants of season 5 will be: Chloe and Halle Bailey, Damian Otchere, Elle Winter, Jack Skuller and Katherine Hughes.

Season 5Edit

Season 5 will consist of 5 contestants: Chloe and Halle Bailey, Damian Otchere, Elle Winter, Jack Skuller and Katherine Hughes. Each will perform at different venues. They will also have mentors. The first mentors were Ross Lynch and Laura Marano for final 4, then Shealeigh (Season 4 N.B.T winner) for final 3, and Cher Lloyd for final 2. Season 5 officially started on October 12, 2012. Chloe and Halle Bailey won the competition, and the announcement was made at the N.B.T season 5 finale concert on December 8, 2012.

Damian OtchereEdit

Damian Otchere is 16 years old from Brooklyn, NY. He is a singer/dancer/actor. He's an amazing dancer and has very respective talent.

Elle WinterEdit

Elle Winter has been singing since she was 9.

Katherine HughesEdit

Katherine Hughes is a 17 year old pop acoustic singer and actress from New York City and currently residing in Los Angeles. She was known as the villain on NBT season 5.

Chloe and Halle BaileyEdit

Chloe and Halle Bailey are sisters who love to sing and act. Chloe Bailey is 13 years old and Halle Bailey is 13 years old. They have been singing and acting from when they were two and three years old. They sing as a group. They are the winners of N.B.T. and have appeared on the Ellen Degeneres show. They will appear in Moon Week & Mentors of Austin & Ally.

Jack SkullerEdit

Jack Skuller is equal parts passion, vintage rock vibe and pure pop sensibilities. Jack was born in New York City in 1996 and raised in New Jersey. His influences range from Elvis Presley and The Beatles to The Ramones and the Black Keys. Jack has received rave reviews in the press:

Teen Vogue called him its "new favorite singer songwriter"

New York Post dubbed him a "mini Jack White."

Time Out New York said "Jack Skuller is poised to become your family’s next obsession."

He's also been featured on J-14, Twist, the New York Press and the Examiner. Jack made his TV debut performing live on FOX TV's Good Day New York and can currently be seen on Radio Disney N.B.T. (Next Big Thing) Season 5. His website can be found at: http://www.jackskuller.com/

Jack was the first eliminated from the contest, receiving the least amount of votes to stay.

EliminationEdit

Jack was the first one to be eliminated, with the least amount of votes. Following him, was Damian. In the final three, Katherine was left to go and as of 11/16/12, Chloe & Halle and Elle were in the Final 2. Chloe & Halle Bailey won the competition.
